Otimbi Labs is now an American Corporation.
After a couple of years working as a freelancer online while still in High-School, I gained a lot of experience that helped me build a strong foundation in business as well as building great software for clients.
It is with this experience that I decided to start my own software development shop after a 6-month stay in the United States back in 2016. Our mission back then, until this day, is the same: deliver great websites and software to startups and entrepreneurs.
Fast forward to the end of 2020, we’ve had a tremendous year. We’ve seen growth never reached before with clients all over the world. Our team size doubled to now 20 developers, engineers, and designers working on our mission to provide the best software solutions to small and medium enterprises as well as larger enterprise companies.
All of this has been done while still legally operating from Niger.
As an entrepreneur and a business owner, it is very important to assess every aspect of operating a business in a certain jurisdiction, such as the benefits and drawbacks of such jurisdiction, to make sure that Clients are delighted and that the company keeps growing. With Otimbi having more and more clients and contracts from all over the world, operating from Niger came at costs that we had to consider during this period of unprecedented growth.
As a quick reminder, Otimbi Labs has served more than 100 clients over the past five years with 170+ individual projects. The company now has 50 active client accounts on 4 continents and over 20 countries. Operating from West Africa has its advantages and its set of challenges. One of the main challenges is banking services and the speed of financial transactions with our partners and clients in the world.
After long discussions with lawyers and various accountants, we decided to open Otimbi Labs, Inc. in the United States. This entity will deal with all our international operations as well as our future ventures.
